About

I am a research assistant in the Department of Public Finance at Hitit University. I received my PhD in Public Finance from Ankara University in 2026. My dissertation examined how Türkiye’s 2017 automatic-enrolment reform affected the saving instruments households use. I also built an open dataset of budget debates in the Turkish Parliament’s Plan and Budget Committee (2009–2025), with speeches linked to individual MPs, ministers and committee chairs. My other work covers automatic adjustment mechanisms in Türkiye’s pension system, the gender dimension of energy poverty, legislative oversight in gender-responsive budgeting, and the effect of AI on university choices. In 2024–25 I spent a year at Maastricht University’s School of Business and Economics as a visiting PhD researcher, supported by TÜBİTAK’s 2214-A fellowship.
